The Scenario

Volition is a company dedicated to helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses through tailored mentorship. One of their primary channels for sharing their work is their homepage. While the webpage communicates its message clearly, there is room for improvement in user experience (UX). Additionally, the founders are seeking a rebrand to infuse a more energetic and modern visual language while retaining the sense of trust and professionalism they have established.

During the briefing, one of the founders shared examples that conveyed the desired sentiment. The imagery reflected a disruptive, asymmetrical, and impactful character, drawing inspiration from subcultural artistic movements like punk art and the vibrant aesthetics of 90s color and collage. While this approach is visually striking, I observed a lack of consistency in the visual concept. This inconsistency could lead to a vague brand identity for users. Furthermore, in some materials, images overshadowed the content rather than enhancing it, due to attention-grabbing combinations, hierarchical issues, and insufficient contrast between backgrounds and text.
